- On 12/23/95, I left a post to GBO regarding some of the questions I
- had about the February release of the Surfer/Voyager package. I wasnt
- in any great hopes a reply since I am sure all the AT staff are very
- busy. I did get a reply on 01/09/96, and I thought I would share it with
- you since I did state in my original post that I was sure many other
- people on the news group would be interested to.
-
-
- 1. Q: I asked what web browser would be used with the Surfer, and
- specified that some people had said it would be Mosaic, and others
- that it would be IBrowse.
-
-
- A: "The browser is a new one called Voyager".
-
-
- 2. Q: AT planned to make only 550,000 Amiga' of all kinds durring
- 1996. Would this be enough considering the pent up demand for
- for the machines.
-
-
- A: "I think this should be sufficient".
-
-
- 3. Q: Can AT gear up production should Surfer, & other Amiga demand
- be larger than expected?
-
-
- A: "Yes, we have good capacity & flexibility here"
-
-
- 4. Q: Will we be able to get net bundle for the existing Amigas?
-
-
- A: "This will be available later, price has not been set yet".
-
-
- 5. Q: Will AT be doing it's own AGA chips, it was my understanding
- that they were only useing the AGA chips that were in stock
- when CBM went under.
-
-
-
- A: "We produce our own chips now. I have seen this recently on
- the new A4000T where some of the chips are branded Amiga Tech-
- nologies".
-
-
- I realize that the responces to the questions bring up as many
- questions, as they answered, but I think we might profitably do as
- Kennedy did durring the Cuban missle crisis. When faced with two
- messages from Kruschev ( one war like and one conciliatory ), Kennedy
- simply chose to respond to the conciliatory message, and pretend he
- he had never gotten the war like message. We are still here!
